Pancakes with yeast

Pancakes with yeast

There are so many recipes for pancakes that someone can find out there. The difference is usually in the ingredients. This recipe here is the one that my hubby makes almost every weekend. My daughter and I woke up from the smell of freshly baked pancakes. So lucky us!

We like to serve them several ways. My favorite lately is with fresh blueberries, sliced banana and maple blueberry syrup. A delicious way to start your day!

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg (beaten),
  • 2 cups of milk,
  • 3 cups of all purpose flour (sifted),
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable oil,
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar,
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast,
  • salt

The method:

In a mixing bowl stir the dry yeast in the warm milk. It should take a creamy color.

Let it aside for 15 minutes. Then add a beaten egg, a tablespoon of vegetable oil, a bit of salt and sugar to the milk with yeast.

Gradually add the sifted flour and stir until the lumps are completely dissolved.

Cover with a kitchen towel  and put in a warm place to rise for 1.5 hours.  When you see bubbles, the dough is ready.

Bake the pancakes over low heat.

Serve with your favorite toppings.

Enjoy!

Your Greek friend,

Theodora
