
16 Feb Greek Mpifteki (Burger)
Does food taste better when you are hungry?
I haven’t conducted any official research, but, between you and me, yes it does!
Try this Greek bifteki with potatoes recipe to remember this recipe like the Greek Summer!
Since it’s so sunny these days, it almost feels like Summer!
For the bifteki (Greek Burger) we need:
- 1lb (450gr) beef ground beef meat
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 cup toasted bread crumbs
- ½ of bunch parsley (chopped)
- 1/3 of bunch mint (chopped)
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- Salt and pepper to your taste
- 1 tablespoon Greek Virgin Olive oil
- For the sheet pan
- 6 large potatoes, cut into wedges
- 2 large garlic cloves sliced
- 1 lemon halved
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper
- Olive oil to drizzle as needed
- fresh parsley and Greek feta to serve

Instructions
1.Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)
2. Put the onion, garlic and herbs in a food processor and pulse until minced.
3. Add the mix to a mixing bowl with the beef meat, salt and pepper, egg, yellow mustard, Greek Virgin Olive oil and the bread crumbs and mix well together.
4. Divide into 5 to 6 portions. Flatten each into a dish and place on a large sheet pan that you had Drizzle with olive oil.
5. Spread the potato wedges in the tray, tossing them to coat in the oil. Season liberally with salt and pepper and oregano.
6. Cook for 35 – 45 minutes.
7. Sprinkle with a little chopped parsley and serve with Greek feta and Greek salad.
