French toast with a Greek touch

A simple french toast with tomato, Greek virgin olive oil and oregano. It tastes more like Greek than French after all! I ate it cold, because the light that was coming from the window was amazing and I couldn’t eat before photo shooting this beauty! Breakfast looked so good and tasted good! I also added some feta cheese crumble and it was delicious! It can also be a great idea for brunch, don’t you think?

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 eggs beaten,
  • 2 to 3 slices of bread,
  • Salt and pepper to your taste,
  • 2 to 3 slices of beef tomato,
  • dry oregano to sprinkle,
  • 1 Tbsp butter for the skillet,
  • 60 gr Greek feta crumbled (optional),
  • Greek virgin olive oil to sprinkle on top.

The method:

In a shallow bowl beat the eggs with salt and pepper to your liking. Put the skillet on medium heat and add the butter. Dip the slices of bread one by one in the bowl with the beaten eggs and add them to the skillet. Turn the bread to the other side when the bread is golden. Repeat with all the slices of bread. Serve them on a plate with the beef tomato slices sprinkle with feta cheese (optional), oregano and Greek virgin olive oil. Enjoy!

Theodora
